Press Shots for indie rock bands

I've looked in to Vampire Weekend and some of their press shots and spreads for inspiration for what type of pictures we could use to help advertise the band. In ways such as costumes and locations which will appeal to our target audience.

Website Anaylsis Vampire Weekend

I've chosen to look at Vampire Weekends website (http://www.vampireweekend.com/) as they are a also an indie rock band like the Silent Sundays which we have chosen to use music from. By looking at a band within the same genre as ours we will be able to take influences which will relate to the fans base.

The front of the website is advertising their newest ablum with the chance to click to listen to the songs and the videos as well as being able to scroll around the front page with your mouse to uncover lyrics to there songs (shown below).

Other pages on the website include there news, upcoming gigs, contact information, links page (to twitter, facebook and myspace), videos, music and photos of the band this keeps there fans and audience in touch with them.There is also an option in the top right hand corner to insert your email address so they can add you to their mailing list.

The other tab on their website is to their merchandise store where fans can purchase items such as t-shirts, jumpers, bags, CD's and posters with the bands logos and picture on.

The album covers below are of other indie, and indie rock artists. As the song we are using is called the midnight wanderer it represent isolation which i think should be shown within the album cover. some of the album covers below show isolation, while others show the artists themselves.
